As my work has developed over the years, I have found inspiration working from both observation and internal sources.

I began by finding pleasure in recording what I saw. Years spent drawing and painting from life built confidence and ability to accurately render while I experimented with a wide variety of mediums. This led to the process of accessing internal imagery. There is anxiety and mystery in not knowing what the image will be until it reveals itself and I’ve developed trust that images will appear.

In working either from internal sources or from observation, each new piece has its own language telling what it needs to unfold. Read Less
