PATH NAVIGATION TAPE ROLL / 2017
Path provides the visually impaired/blind with information about spaces and their direction.
Using the standard application method for vinyl wall graphics, the sticker can be cut to the desired length and easily applied to the wall, which when painted over with standard house paint, becomes almost invisible to the eye.
Thanks to Heights and Hills and The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian design museum for participation in this project.
User testing was conducted to find the ideal graphic shape and texture. Various texture was used for testing including EVA foam, vinyl, sandpaper, and silicone. Texture was tested by cutouts of different materials and different thicknesses of the materials. The texture cutouts were also coated with two layers of standard house paint to compare between uncoated and coated texture.
