Bonbo is a dual-purpose stacking bowl designed for easier drawing
and food portion control.
In daily use of dining ware, it’s often dicult to draw out one particular
dish from a pile because we tend to stack everything together.
The idea of Bonbo is to change the regular steps of choosing the size
then drawing out into picking anyone from the top then choosing
size as needed. The solution is combining two dierent volumes
within one body. The key design is the negative space underneath
the bowl. With a bowl shape dent on the bottom, it creates two dierent
volumes, which can be used by simply reversing the container.
In the meantime, the double-sided design also helps with
food portion control. The side of the bowl is vertical to out
focus the top bottom diffrences, creates a full dish illusion even on
the small volume side. By minimizing the width of bottom edges, it
helps Bonbo to look like a full-size dish on either side.
