This proposed design for a Buy the Bag store uses the unique layout of the building and a response to the way the store functions as jumping off points for an innovative design.
Buy the Bag allows shoppers to buy second hand products by the bag instead of item by item. For $25 shoppers can fill up a bag with as many items as they can and all proceeds go back into the charity Housing Works. To accommodate this unique shopping style I designed a system of conveyances that would allows shoppers better access to the clothes and employees a more seamless supply system. The store operates from the top level down ending on the first floor which houses a coffee shop and an educational area where Housing works can display information about their history and current projects.
